MyHomeConnect.online – Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 04/04/2025

Welcome to MyHomeConnect.online (“MyHomeConnect,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information. When you use our websites, mobile apps, or any other online services we provide (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to this Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Platform.

1. Who We Are

MyHomeConnect is a lead-generation service. We help connect consumers (“Consumers” or “Customers”) with independent service providers (“Service Professionals” or “Pros”) for various Pro Services. “Users” include anyone who uses or visits the Platform—Consumers, Service Professionals, or anyone else browsing the site.

Unless otherwise stated, references to “MyHomeConnect,” “we” or “us” in this Policy also include any affiliates we may have.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information about you in several ways:

Information You Provide Directly

Account Registration: Name, email, phone number, mailing address, demographic details (like age or gender), payment details, and more.

Communications: Info you give us when you contact customer support, post content (photos, reviews), respond to surveys, or enter promotions.

Service Information: If you’re a Service Professional, we may ask for professional details (business name, services offered, qualifications) and identity verification info (like a driver’s license, Social Security Number, etc.).

Payment Info: We use third-party payment processors for credit card or bank account data.

Information from Affiliates or Outside Sources

Social Media: If you link a social media account (e.g., Facebook), we may get info from that site (profile info, friend lists, etc.), based on your settings there.

Public Databases & Background Checks: We might get info from public records or identity/fraud prevention services to verify your identity or ensure safety.

Off-Platform Communications: If you text or call someone using contact info you found on MyHomeConnect, we may track the fact those communications happened (and possibly content, if needed to prevent fraud).

Information Collected Automatically

Device/Usage Data: Like IP address, browser type, operating system, device IDs, pages visited, time spent on pages, and your general location (based on IP). We may also collect precise location if you enable location on your mobile device.

Cookies & Similar Technologies: We (and third parties) use cookies, pixels, and similar tools to analyze usage, personalize experiences, and show relevant ads.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for purposes such as:

  • Providing Our Services
    • Letting you sign up and log in.
    • Connecting you with Service Professionals or Consumers.
    • Processing payments and tracking fees.
  • Improving the Platform
    • Debugging and repairing errors.
    • Evaluating usage trends to develop new features or services.
    • Running analytics or conducting user surveys.
  • Marketing & Advertising
    • Sending promotional emails or texts about MyHomeConnect services or offers that may interest you.
    • Showing you relevant ads (on our Platform or others’).
  • Safety & Fraud Prevention
    • Investigating suspicious activities.
    • Enforcing our Terms of Use or legal obligations.
  • Legal & Compliance
    • Cooperating with law enforcement.
    • Defending our rights in legal disputes.
  • We may combine info we get from you with info we get from outside sources. We may also de-identify (remove identifying details) or aggregate (combine your data with others) and use that for any purpose.

4. How We Share Your Information

We generally do not sell your personal information the way most people think of “selling.” However, some sharing—like disclosing a Consumer’s name and location to a Service Professional—can be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain state privacy laws (explained below).

We may disclose your information to:
  • Other Users
    • If you’re a Consumer, certain info (like your name, location, or project details) may be shared with Service Professionals you contact or who match your request.
    • If you’re a Service Professional, info about your business (including your name and public profile details) may be visible to potential customers.
  • Third-Party Service Providers
    • Marketing, analytics, payment processors, background check services, etc. They can only use the data to perform services for us.
  • Affiliates
    • Current or future affiliates, so they can help provide or improve our services.
  • Legal or Safety Reasons
    • Comply with a court order, law, or legal process.
    • Protect the rights or safety of MyHomeConnect, our Users, or others.
    • Investigate fraud or respond to a government request.
  • Business Transfers
    • If MyHomeConnect merges with, acquires, or is sold to another entity, your data may be transferred as part of the deal.
  • With Your Consent
    • If you specifically allow it.

Keep in mind that anything you choose to post publicly (e.g., reviews, forums, or user-to-user communications) may be visible to others. Please use caution when sharing sensitive details.

5. Cookies & Tailored Advertising

Cookies & Other Trackers: We use cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies to provide, protect, and understand our Platform. For example, they help remember your preferences, measure ad campaign effectiveness, and personalize ads.

Analytics: We may use Google Analytics or similar services. They use cookies to track usage; you can usually opt out via your browser settings or dedicated opt-out tools.

Advertising: Third parties might place cookies to show you tailored ads on our Platform or elsewhere. You can opt out of some targeted advertising via the Network Advertising Initiative or Digital Advertising Alliance sites.

Even if you opt out, you may still see ads—they just won’t be as personalized.

6. Data Security

We use various security measures (encryption, passwords, limited access) to protect your data. However, no security system is foolproof. You should:

  • - Choose strong passwords and keep them secret.
  • - Log out after using shared devices.
  • - We can’t guarantee 100% security, so please be cautious with your information.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal info from children under 18. If we learn we have done so, we’ll delete that data as required by law.

8. Your Choices & Rights

8.1 Account & Communication Preferences

Update or Delete Your Info: You can correct or delete certain details by logging into your account or contacting us. We may keep info as needed for legal or internal business purposes.

Opt Out of Marketing: You can unsubscribe from our promotional emails or texts using the opt-out link or instructions in those communications. We may still send you non-promotional messages (like account or billing notices).

8.2 Universal Privacy Rights (Borrowed from CA Law)

Because privacy laws vary, and we’re making California’s consumer rights universal by default:

  • - You (wherever you live in the U.S.) can generally:
  • - Access the personal info we have about you.
  • - Delete certain info (though some exceptions apply, e.g., if we must keep it by law).
  • - Correct inaccurate personal info.
  • - Know about how your information is “shared” or “sold,” if at all.
  • - Opt Out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal info, including targeted ads (if you wish).

Note: If your state’s law directly conflicts with these rights (by offering fewer or more specific rights), we’ll follow that state’s requirement. We’ll note any material conflicts below.

9. State-Specific Notes

We’re adopting California-style privacy rights for all U.S. users. Below are examples of how other states’ laws might differ or add rights:

Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut: Their laws are similar to California’s in offering the right to access, delete, correct, and opt out of targeted ads or data sales. If their rules conflict with anything above, we’ll comply with those states’ specifics.

Nevada: Nevada residents can opt out of certain “sales” of personal info (as defined by Nevada law). We do not currently sell personal info in a way that triggers Nevada’s rules, but if that changes, we’ll honor opt-out requests.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [dataprivacy@myhomeconnect.online] or visit [(Link to your data-privacy request page)]. We may need to verify your identity, e.g., by asking you to log in or provide certain info to confirm you are who you say you are.

10. International Visitors

Our servers and operations are based in the United States (and possibly Canada). If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., you consent to transferring and processing your data in the U.S. (and/or Canada). These countries may have different data protection laws than your home country.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we do, we’ll post the new version on our site (and may notify you by email or a notice in your account). The “Last Updated” date at the top tells you when we last revised the Policy. By continuing to use the Platform, you agree to the updated Policy.
